B) Absent: Officers: B. Benacerraf; Council Members: (see A2): Committee Chairpersons: W. J. Herbert Dr. De Weck called the meeting to order at 17:15 hours.

II Minutes
The Minutes of the 23rd meeting of the Council in Jerusalem, September, 1985 were approved.

III President's Report
In his remarks De Weck noted a) His concern that mechanisms be found to introduce younger immunologists into the organization of the IUIS; b) His concern that continued efforts be made to have IUIS truly representative of all immunologists despite the increasing specialization in the field as evidenced by the many satellite meetings at the congress - e.g. clinical immunology, reproductive  immunology, etc.; c) His concern that IUIS still has no official publication; the preliminary overtures with Immunology Today not having been successful: d) His concern that the previous useful interactions with the World Health Organization was disrupted by the death of Dr. Perkins. He noted that he and Dr. Nossal had had a cordial meeting with Dr. Mahler of WHO and hoped that this would lead to further cordial relations. De Weck's first point was discussed at some length, it being being pointed out that service on Committees was the most promising mechanism
